Abstract : Microspheres with free flow properties of powder, composed of engineered polymers and proteins. They are biodegradable in nature with a particle size of less than 200um. Microspheres are multi-particle drug delivery devices composed of natural and synthetic materials. Microsphere increases bioavailability, durability and targeting the drug at a particular site at a fixed pace. Microsphere types include bioadhesive, floating, radioactive, polymeric and biodegradable microspheres. Microspheres are especially used in novel drug delivery system.
